I haven't posted in a while.... I’ve been doing a lot of experimenting with different types of mediums and styles....found some pretty cool ways of working... I found out how to get a similar effect that I was able to achieve with layering g tar, oil paint and wax... but with only using water based mediums... no rashes, no developing cancer from breathing toxic fumes with no ventilation... here is the example using only water based mediums (water soluble oil paints and acrylics)
I have been doing the experimenting because I felt I was getting too one dimensional with my work... I’ve been making a lot of these....
They look really cool ... but I seek a bit more creativity, beyond what I have already become accustom too... plus I was getting a little bored of doing the same thing over and over...
here is another type of work I’ve just recently started doing... they are city scenes using super thick texture...
I am really happy with the way they turned out...
i am planning on doing some more like this in a similar style but in a size that is proportional to make prints from...
i have also started listing some of my work on Esty... Esty is a site that artists can create an online shop and sell there handmade goods... there are some pretty cool and really unique things on there... i like looking through to get ideas of directions I can go in my own art work... its very inspiring to see some of the creative things people make
My first art show @ the open studios in Lowell MA. Met some other artist and had some good conversations. Also sold a couple of my prints of my earlier works.
I am going to be starting to show my work at the western studios in Lowell Massachusetts. There open studio opportunities every 1st Saturday of every month . Hope to see you there. Here’s is the link
I just opened my eBay store and started listing my paintings.
here is the process to how arrived where am now.....
I tried different types of mediums and materials to get the effect that I wanted (the best brands and the most appropriate materials).
The frames required me to buy and learn how to use a table saw, nail gun, miter saw, and paint sprayer. So my next step was to figure out all the stuff necessary to make a clean looking auction templates, eBay store and good images of my artwork to accurately present my artwork. I am still making adjustments
Went to Washington DC to visit my dad. Southwest has a pretty good deal for flying between Manchester NH and Baltimore MD only $59 each way!!!. Weather was great the entire time (in the 60’s during the day compared to 20’s in Manchester when I left).
I was told from one of my friends and my dads girl friend that Frederic MD was an excellent art city. We decided to check it out on the way to the Gettysburg museum in PA (40 min further north).
It seemed that there was a special art show going on that day. there was food and beverages being given out and these ice sculptures all over town.
there was a canal that ran through the city. frozen though.
Then it was off the Gettysburg museum

I am not a big fan of museums but this one I liked. the museum was very clean new. And exhibits had interactive videos that I thought were interesting. The best part of the museum was the stadium style movie narrated by Morgan Freeman!!! The guy from Shawshank Redemption.
wow, what a convincing speaker. It was a very informative and to the point video. only about 15 min long but very memorable. After the video you went up an escalator to this huge dome shaped room with a giant mural of the war going around the entire room. I was very impressed by just how huge this painting was.
a small part of the giant painting
my dad and painting
There was also a talking narrative and light show on top of the painting but I wasn’t really to impressed by that. It wasn’t Morgan Freeman and it was a little hard to follow.
